History and Pictures of Glassport
Now and Then...

This is a booklet that was designed for the Glassport Bicentennial Celebration in 1976. It was compiled by long time Glassport residents and has lots of great historical information. Thanks to Grace Merta of the Glassport Crime Watch for scanning the booklet into a searchable PDF file for use on our web pages.

Some of compilers of this history are no longer with us, but we want to acknowledge them as best we can. The committee that put this together was comprised of Anne Dzurko, Rae Papernick and Florence Tomedolsky. They also acknowledged all those individuals too numerous to mention for supplying information and materials needed to in compiling this history. Special mention was given to Joseph Pensenstadler for his many hours of research and personal interviews; Raymond Krills, Jean Price and Walter Klimek for supplying priceless photographs.

"Just a quick note saying HI from the webmaster of 15122.com. I was up flying around on Saturday and was taking some pictures of the area. I tried to get all the people of Glassport to "smile" when I was taking their picture -- some didn't. Thought you might like these pictures. It was kind of overcast, but they turned out pretty good."
